Vaccinations for Pets
Immunizations are needed to protect your pet from serious and deadly diseases. Generally, immunizations are started when your puppy or kitten is 6-8 weeks of age. We customize your pet's immunization depending on breed, species, and risk of exposure. Not all pets need the same type of vaccine series. Some pets may need modified types of protection if they are allergic to certain types of vaccine products.
There is recent information which may lead us to believe that some vaccinations may last longer than we previously thought. There is also information which suggests some vaccines should be administered more frequently than previously thought. Until more concrete evidence is in we are customizing our vaccines according to the pets' risk level, and continuing protection for most diseases on an annual basis.
Most of the diseases we immunize for are species specific with the exception of Rabies. We do recommend Rabies protection for all pets, as this is a disease that could potentially threaten your health in addition to your pet's health.
